THIS WEEK IN CLASS
Science Methods: We reviewed for Chapter 3 and 4 Test. Students were reminded to bring their books to the next class in order to exchange them for the next subject.
Life Science: We discussed genetics, practiced Punnett squares, dissected a flower to observe the parts, and performed a genetics activity using crossed corn.
Physical Science: Students performed multi-step conversions and answered question about Charles' Law and Boyle's Law. Various lab activities were done to illustrate the gas laws.
Physical Science (Bellevue): We played with water on wax paper to demonstrate cohesion and surface tension. We discussed non-newtonian solids and how they do not fit in any of the standard phase types. We read phase change diagrams and proved that ice water does not change temperature until all the ice has melted. We also examined examples of exothermic and endothermic reactions and determined how to identify each. Finally, we observed energy diagrams for the different reaction types.
