Science Methods: The class is still studying chemistry. We learned how to calculate density and practiced on some blocks. Then we tested the blocks for other physical properties like magnetism and electrical conductivity.
Life Science: Osmosis and Diffusion were introduced today. Students set up the beginning of an experiment, which involved measuring shell-less eggs and placing them in different liquids. The eggs will soak until next week when we will take the results. The class aslso discussed passive and active transport, including endocytosis and exocytosis
Physical Science: The class practiced identifying physical and chemical properties. In math, students learned to write equivalents as fractions and also how to calculate density. In lab, students used rulers to calculate the volume of prisms, volume displacement to calculate the volume of irregular solids, and balances to determine mass. Those values were all used to practice calculating the density of the objects.
