What we did in class...
Students created insulation for an ice cube and tested each design to see which creation prevented the ice from melting. We also reviewed for the test.
Students learned all about genetics. We covered homozygous and heterozygous alleles and discussed dominant and recessive genes. Students also learned multiple forms of inheritance and had an introduction to genetic engineering, including cloning. Students started a lab that tracks the random distribution of genes in a population and will end in the creation of family pedigrees.
Students learned about surface tension, cohesion, state changes, phase diagrams, and discussed endothermic and exothermic reactions. Students also practiced converting units from English to Metric and from Metric to English systems.
